Watt in the World Exhibition
We are extremely proud to have been commissioned on many occasions to work in partnership with galleries and museums in the Birmingham area to undertake conservation and museum-grade framing projects. One of our proudest framing projects was for the 'Watt in the World' exhibition at the Library of Birmingham in 2019, a 4-month exhibition celebrating the life and work of the scientist, inventor, and pioneer James Watt.
Working in close partnership with the archive department of the Library of Birmingham, Greenhill Galleries framed more than 100 internationally important archival and museum objects, including paintings, works on paper, silver, scientific instruments, personal items, photographs, documents, notebooks, and letters. Everything had to be framed with the utmost care and attention to detail, to the very highest standard of framing to preserve the items without any damage from the framing process and materials, or from the environment they were hung in for the exhibition.
